well i am aback again this time i will stick to the journal i readthis forums everyday mostly the exam experiences and support forum well i am old graduate 5 years have a daughter 2 years have been studying 1 1/2 year on and off taken alot of breaks 5-6 hours studying a day well my eligibility ends on june second time i forked the fee so this is my last time to give the exam or hubby anf family will literally kill me cannt seem to saty focus i should never had taken this long gap i just cannt get more than 5 hours when i go home like to watch tv and play with mu kid and ofcourse donot forget the housework anf cooking and cleaniing all on me but still i was married in college but didnt have my kid i still studied 10 hrs and more dont know why so lazy oh well as for my studying gave all subjects 2 reading from kaplan except anatomy 1 behavioral science 1 and neuro will start tommorow physio and special patho goljan gave 3 readings but still not all up there yet cannt seem to score that high in q bank well as for schedule today wrapping up BS and trying to do CNS pharma with it but so far did only 50 questions of BS from q bank tutor mode got a 70 people say should use as a learning tool not a diagnostic of performance thats why i pick tutor mode did first 2 pages of cns pharms got a headace writing to relieve tension feel washed out alot of times and headaches are coming more often i think because of tension that i have to give exam and make this match or forget about being a doctor want to finish this revison then give nmbe to see where i stand nuero its my first time i think it will take a week b/c very imp for exam they say 4-5 questiond per block pray for me really need it now i have to go back to cns

Very good decision female doc ny, its really good to be in the crowd who are moving in the same direction..that force will also push your momentum..for myself its kind of everyday submission..and honestly checking myself..when it is written in front of you, it works very good..hopefully yes we all can do it. InshahAllah!

welli didn't finish my cns yesterday my daughter was sick she woke up with a stoamache ace when i took her to the doctor said her lymph nodes were swollen mandibular no fever so they think a viral infecton so sayed home she did not want to get off my lap so just held her and watched tv with her today she was better dropped her off but promised to be there early just in case she isnot feeling well well cns pharma is ugghh espacially if u want to watch videos with it they take to much time wonder if they are really worth it but i think they are so we will see my dad scolded me yesterday siad when i was going to give the exam b/c life has many surprises so to give the exami know get depressed when reminded well stillwatching the videos god please help me i am praying u know

Everey thing is going to be alright.God is watching over you and He is the most merciful.These obstacles come and go.But these are friendly obstacles.One step that you are pulled back helps you to take two steps forward as a compensation.Just keep moving steady and honestly.Every bit of your effort counts.I pray for your daughter to get healthy and happy.one thing at a time,small steps will lead you to the final destination with God's will.Just keep focused and donot waste time whenever you get it free.You will do great.

yes you just need to stick in there. there will be days that you will get so much done and yu feel so high and encouraged but there are some days that you are so depressed you feel like kicking it in.
pharma is one hard subject but it is important. i spent a looooong time reading it and i am not yet done. i tend to skim when i read so when i am studying i take a different tactic. i read it first pass, then read from another textbook second pass then i answer questions. this is when i realise the details i skimmed and then i go third pass on my first text which is my text of choice. then i make notes. that is why it has taken me so long and guess what, cns pharma is the real bummer. i scored so low in qbook 12 over 25. this is after 3days of reading the stuff. i got up. played my favorite music loud and i started dancing . then i did some exercies, had a shower, styled my hair, made up my face and i am back at it!!!! i wont give up.

just keep it up.

thanks u guyd your support is really great malinda i pray for your scores to be great since u are so helpful to us all and tolito thanks for the advice and no it was not lengthly just right well today am starting neuro hope to finish it in 5 days will be watching lkectures with it since it is my first time my daughter is mashallah ok now but dad went for a colonoscopy today i hate these reminders that our parents are getting old it makes u want to cry but may allah give us all strength to take on all that he has in plan for us

well forgot to mention my progress well did some biostats quests scored horrible 35 can u believe it so when i went home at night 1am i studied those first 2 chapters in kaplan like a mad person i feel great but still i need more questions to see how i will do kaplan q bank does not have that many i already did the ones they have any suggestions thanks

guess what, last night after relaxing a bit, i re-read cns pharma using lippincott and hy with kaplan and i sored 24 out of 25!! the one i missed was a question on drug equations that i did not check the formula. there is always hope

go tolito are u using three books for pharma lipincott and high yeild and kaplan WOW i am not that good well had family obligations so did not start neuro today after this post i will or biochem b/c i cannt seem to get the neuro cds running oh well the object is to not waste time right so if one thing does not go well do domething else right

i found kaplan too 'concentrated'. i always forget what i read in kaplan. every sentence is important. so i read lippincott that is wordy and then go back to kaplan. then i remember. i am such a poor student. i forget such stuff like MOA, side effects so easily. i dont use HY pharma but i read hy behav for cns pharma.

i love lipincott but i know that i cannot do both i have the same problem with kaplan but i pray i will not forget even though i did forget since i studied that subject last april well lets not get down just did neuro basal ganglia, cerebral cortex and limbic system the lectures are quite good well now i cannt open the rest of neuro so am starting genetics told hubby i will come home late usually i am home by now so extending my library hours is helping but tomorrow is my daughter birthday will not study sorry but i need to give her attention giving that inshallah in residency lord knows if i will be available

hi female doc ny , i know doin kaplan with the dvds takes a lot of time , i had the same problem with the kaplan notes but with the dvd i feel much better , i would not recomend usin alot of books unless u have alot of time at hand and are makin ur own notes which u will be reviewin a day b4 the exam . i just finished pharma first time and i was luckyly able to finish it in one wk , but i had to give a 100 % 8 -12 hrs a day , i read the chapter first ( quick read ) and then listen to the lectures and add the extra things to it , we all know pharmacology is 80-90 % memorization , thats why its so volitile , just try to go through it fast and then read it again after a wk or so , or u can keep doin a few drugs every day ........ that might help .
i know its diffucult with kids , i have one my self and as im readin ur journal , im like this is me , i have just been through a bad flu and now my son is sick again , this might be the 3- 4th time , he gets some kind of viral infection which infects his ears and he ends up havin a different antibiotic every time ...... anyway HAPPY BIRTHDAY to ur daughter and enjoy her birthday , i know wat ever comin and goes in life this moments and memories never come back.

thanks aisha i pray your son gets better my daughter had a wonderful party she was so happy i would not have missed it for the world my husband had to go to work so e was sad but still it was great did cllasical conditioning and the rest last night well today back to biochem i will watch the videos because i did watch a year ago but believe me u forget so watching helps me remember well goota go and study

well i am doing genetics first time the videos are horrible the hardy weinberg equation my good i do no think i wil get that question right in the exam only did the first two chapters theses lectures are long well goota go home now hope to study viriology tonight

well di study virology from FA since it has the best classification better than kaplan its good b/c they ask questions in viro like a child had viral gastroenteritis we know that it is norwalk agent i think oh well but they give chioces that explian the organism ds ss enveloped neg sense pos sens so clssification at your tips is a must but did not get to do the hepittiits vaccines and that graph they have and aids went to sleep at three daughter woke me up at 4 crying i think she had a stomache ache lasted until 8;15 had to take soime rest woke up at 11 now am at library hoping to finish genetics is it really worth all this time well gotta go study

i know genetics is hard i have to read it too when i was reading genetics i just quit b/c i was feeling that i am not getting it but i have to do that subject, for micro i think fa is really very well written i really like its micro part any way i am doing micro too.

one more thing you are doing great with a kid i know it is the most difficult to do i don't kow why but whenever i try to study at home with the kids my kids needs me at that time badly other wise if i am cooking or doing some other house chores they don't care,sometime when in the night time i try to study my daughter comes to me & she says that i don't want to sleep or can you plz tell me story or tuck me in bed or sometimes wanna go to bathroom unnecessarily i know that. these kids they know the tricks.but i think you have a really small child if he /she wakes you up in the night it really means he needs you.anyway good luck i don't know i am not feeling study today i should give one more try to myself gotta go.

well did not finish genetics yesterday awful the lectures are long and difficult well did finish viriology last night and reviewed the classification again b/c u always seem to forget it even the additional 3 pages of FA after that went to sleep at 3 am in the library now hoping to finish genetics and review my anatomy since i just finished that about 2 weeks ago have to revise as to not forget wells see so genetics be done with u again i ask is genetics really worth it

hi female doc ny , ur doin great and it s tough with a child , i think genetics is very important , i know its a lil hard but try to do the key concept things couple of times and that shoudl help u memorize some thing , i just finished doin microbiology and i think the flow chrats in the kaplan are very good , u might want to add some points to them but if u memotize these charts u will see improvement in solvin Qs

agree with aisha2, female doc ny..people say it is important..because we dont know what kind of exam we may get..as they say each and every subject is tested equally..so, lets not take any chance here..lets do it..thats it!
How I wish we had a chance like that..to take whatever we are comfortable with ..

thanks guys love your inputs great well last night did not study finished gentics in the libraray hoped to revise last night memorise but daughter would not go to sleep want to play my husband even said what is she on but alast she went ot sleep at two did not feel like studying after that so went to bed also but i have to start waking up earliar exam in 2 months well now i will have to revise genetics nad strt micro bacterio b/c my husband could not get the lectyres of neuro on cd for me yet so hope to finish bacterio

i am sorry did finish genetics but didnt get a chance to memorize it i usually watch videos then when i finish i sit to the book only and memorize just understanding is enough

finished genetics still dont think i will get the hardy weinberg questions right but i ave to move on did questions got 62 not bad but not good either since i did the question right after my revision so now 1 hr left until i go home have to start bacterio
