I PLAN TO GIVE MY USMLE STEP 1 IN THE FIRST WEEK OF JUNE. FOR SOME REASON I JUST CANT READ BOOKS WHERE MATTER IS GIVEN IN A TABULAR OR POINT WISE MANNER.THESE DAYS I AM READING TEXT BOOKS ONLY.ONCEDONE I WANT TO CHOOSE BETWEEN TAKING THE KAPLAN Q BANK AND DOING THE SYSTEM WISE Q'S FROM BOARD SIMULATOR SERIES..A BOOK RELEASED BY THE NBME ITSELF. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE GUIDE ME AS TO WHAT IS BETTER. THE BOARD SIMULATOR SERIES DOES APPEAR TO HAVE GOOD QS WITH GOOD EXPLANATIONS AS WELL BUT AM STILL QUITE CONFUSED. SOMEONE PLEASE GUIDE ME THRU THIS. THANKS.

well you ought to do both,

atleast i did both.

kaplan q bank is a must.
and the Board Simulated Series is not by NBME....it is by National Medical School(NMS).
this book is a series of 5 books... the first two books are one liners and not usmle clinical vignette type. but the last three books are system wise and the questions are difficult similar to usmle clinical vignette type . so if you have time do both cos more the questions you do more yuou benefit.
cos you cant sit in the exam doing only about 2000 questions of the q bank
