For creating transgenic organisms, I understand that plamids can be used for bacteria and artificial chromosomes for yeast, but what type of vector can be used to integrate foreign genes into a non-yeast eukaryotic cell (e.g. what is used to integrate a human gene into a mouse chromosome)?

I am not sure... but I remember reading in Kaplan notes (have to refresh my memory though) that Adenovirus and retroviruses are being considered.
