docface wrote: bbb wher's ur puppy? i miss ur cute little puppy!!!! I was told by a chief resident during one of the interviews that wash manual and CMDT are usefull books.Best ofcourse is Harrisson's but that probably take 4-6 months to read and three whole years of residency to digest. Which wash manual?? The Washington Manual Internship Survival Guide or the washington manual of medical therapeutics?? My friend who is on his PGY-1 also recommended Wash manual. But when I search on Amazon, I found the aforementioned two different books. Which one is the right one??

i believe ppl shud relax and enjoy.. and many progs do offer book allowance - so need to buy books now. i wud spend the last few days of the "good life" with family.. harrison is certainly readable.. it was standard text for final yr med in mbbs in my college.. golwalla sux but ofcourse no1 read about hanta virus and stuff in detail.. wash manual or harrisons manual are both equally good. but wash is more preffered by folks. also many ppl get a pda loan from programs - so try and hunt for good pda sites. mksap and uptodate is provided by most programs.. otherwise u can always borrow from the libraries. their libraries are very very well stocked. also a new mksap edition is expected soon - so hold your horses folks.. gl to all (esp all ya harry fans) apurva

Washington Manual has been purchased for the interns for many years by a drug rep on my hospital. I don't know if the interns even look at it with so much on-line information available.
