OK after matching, celebrating and resting, it is time to get ready for the future.
Any suggestion of books for preparation would be great.

Thanks.

I have the same question....perhaps people are preparing for step 3...I guess, you can just brush though some basics. No dosage etc of drugs really are required, because that you will always have access to them in the hospitals, and they dont even expect you to remember all of them. However, in my program, the Chief Resident always sends an e mail to all matched candidates before starting, to give an overview, of what they expect and what you can expect, how to prepare etc...

But I think, you should have washington Manual, Hippocrates / Pharmacopea for the time being.

Its just a suggestion...by the way, I am just chilling till it actually starts.[ gearing up for the battle]wink

I just asked my chief resident for a list - it would be IM specific, but it would be a start.

bbb wher's ur puppy? i miss ur cute little puppy!!!!

I was told by a chief resident during one of the interviews that wash manual and CMDT are usefull books.

Best ofcourse is Harrisson's but that probably take 4-6 months to read and three whole years of residency to digest.

Hmmmm, I can see my puppy. Who is actually 4 years old and too roly poly to be a puppy. I am harassing my Chiefs on an hourly basis for books that would be useful!

For ABIM you can use
'Mayo Clinic Internal Medicine Board Review', by Habermann,
'First Aid for the Internal Medicine Boards', by Le,
'Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine: Self-Assessment and Board Review', by Wiener.
chemamr, MKSAP costs $45, if we are talking about the same book:
