transcriptio,

not a weird question....you have two options: you can get a LOR from somebody (than you will have the original yourself) or you waive the right to see the LOR and your LOR writer will have the original (and he might give you a copy later)....
Either way, this original has to be send to ECFMG and they will scan it and after that upload it to the ERAS postoffice (later when you apply to all the programs that programs can download your LOR's from this postoffice)....

You'll find all the instructions on how to do things on the ECFMG ERAS homepage....

Hi Sabine,
If I do not waive the right to see the content of the LOR, will it's importance/value/weight be much less? How do you handle that?
Thanks a lot!

But Sabine Its written on ERAS website that we shouldnt send any original document ; as EVERY document will be SHreded after scanning and will not be sent back at all. You should send Good Photocopies to them for scanning. Yes i do read about this sending the lor directly by consultant and waiving the right to see. But what i thought about it was that was for American MGs Whose own college have their deans offices sending documents and everything while us IMGs all have ECFMG acting as our Deans office.
