hi guys
i have take step 1 today and i just want to share my exp. with u people
the study was really tough but thanks to my wife and little kid who were source of my motivation and inspiration throughout this arduous time.My wife kept on telling me that i can do it, i have to do it for our future.
The people on this forum have been really helpful and thank to all those who kept on sharing useful info.Thanks to shakil who send me goljan HY and physio q bank which wa really helpful.
the exam was pretty tough-they asked many weired thing and few q' actually made me so frustrated that i wanted to kick nbme. for example they gave chemical structure of 5 steroids and asked for the compound which can be absorbed from skin-then there was q about chemical structure of sulfasalazine and bacterial action on which chemical bond
Pathology-i got only 25% q's from patholgy and my advise is that pl listen to the gr8 teacher goljan-there were few q' which actually had the same wording which goljan used in lectures-there were qs about syringomylia, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer,kartagner syndrome breast tumors, aortic stenois ,HOCM and alzeihmer dementia multiple myeloma and CML.there were lot of qs related to alcohlism also
neuro anatomy was very very heavily tested with about 2-3 qs in each section.they asked lot of q's from lower limb like fibular fracture, peroneal nerve injuries and blood supply of limbs.hitology was not asked in much detail. they kept on asking about kartagner and cilia abnormailty
there were many qs from behaviour science-doctor patient relationship,child development but very few from biostat
most of the q's from biochem were related to enzyme deficencies,biochemical changes in cystic fibrosis,cystine and folate mechanism, vit A in pregnancy and effect of antibiotic on vitamin aborption
q's from pharma were pretty tough. few q' which i remeber were related to reistance to Retroviral therapy,Anti cancer drugs,lithium and anti epileptic(phenytoin) anticoagulants .
To cut the long tory short, its over now. i don know about the result but honestly this exam has given me lot of encouragement and hope to me. i don know at thi stage that iam gonna pass or fail but iam thankful to my God for helping me,for giving me patience. I have done my best to achieve my goal and I know my God has always been very kind to me.pl every body do pray for me

one more advie pl. do q bank - many q's were very much similar to kaplan q bank

All my good wishes with u. Did u not get any similar question from NBME? How many pictures and radiology images? Any histo slide? Did u do HY Embryo? Is it a must?

yes the q's were very much similar to nbme and q bank
there were lot of ct scans and diagrams
i got only 2 qs from embryoology-ne was about urogenital sinus and the other was cardiac defects in down syndrome
