I am posting this for the benefit of those who bind their hopes with scramble in case they do not match.I did not match this year(had only three calls actually) and had hopes to find a position in scramble but seemingly these positions are filled more with "internal" methods and contacts rather than candidate considerations. I called several programs but the administrator was either "momentarily" not on desk for the entire 48 hours or the answering machine claimed that the program has filled all vacancies even when the NRMP unfilled list shows them in currently unfilled programs list...dunno how this was but i realised that it is fruitless to gear yorself for scramble unless you have good contacts...well i would apply for the next match in time and hope to get a position of my choice...and yeah congrats to all those who matched this year.......
