A 37-year-old man is brought to the emergency department after falling down a flight of stairs. Physical examination shows acute alcohol intoxication, a bruise over the left temple, and a swollen, painful wrist. Over the next 30 minutes, his level of consciousness deteriorates, and the left pupil becomes dilated. Which of the following is the most likely cause of the neurologic findings? A. Cerebral contusion B. Compression of the facial nerve C. Laceration of the middle meningeal artery D. Laceration of the superior cerebral (bridging) veins E. Laceration of the temporal artery F. Occult brain tumor unmasked by the fall

Is the ONLY clue then that his consciousness deteriotes within 30 minutes...meaning high pressure bleed from arterial system (ie middle meningeal artery)? I know venous bleed is very slow onset due to low pressure so it PROBABLY would not be subdural EVEN THOUGH other clues like alcoholic and dilated pupil might say otherwise.
