hi guys,
This question is for those who matched. For those who have to relocate to another state, how are you guys going about with the whole process? When do we start with the whole process? I have not gotten my contract yet...do the program coordinators tell you options for housing etc.? I got into a program at NY and i don't know anyone there. Also, i'm kind of clueless about the area as well. Any one have any advice or info? If so, please helpsad Any kind of info or advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

Its right. I haven't got my contract letter as of yet, even though I had pre matched in Jan. So, they will send you pre employment examination forms, and a letter stating your employment, then they will send you a program of the orientation. Regarding housing, the Program coordinator will give you a better idea, but its best to shift by May end, since orientation usually begins in June 1st week in most programs.

For Rema, you are not exactly going to be in NYC as such. You are going to be living in Long Island, which is in suburb. So, you have to look around for places at Suffolk county. You will need a car for sure, because theres no public transport concept here, but its a LOVELY place to be in!!!

So, dont worry!! Talk to the program coordinator

thanks a lot guys for your replies. Really appreciate it. I got my contract by mail today. I guess there was some delay at the post office or something. If you guys don't receive the contracts soon, i would call up the program coordinator and check up on that, because these have a deadline by which they have to receive them.

Tania...thanks again for your reply. I checked out the apartments in suffolk county, but they are way tooo expensive...so expensive that after browsing, i was kind of depressed...sad and fell asleep right away. smiling face Anyway, like you said, i'll call up the pc and see what my options are. shaking head
