I am pasting this quary got from another forum guys can somebody please tell me if the computer we use in prometric center come with calculators and if so are we aloud to use it in order to complete the physio, pharma, bioestadistics questions or if is permited to bring your own calculator. Im asking about this because there must be people incluiding me that never was a good math student, I mean basic calculations with ENTIRE numbers are OK but if they come out with complex FRACTIONS,DECIMALS and SQUARE ROOTS we can do a silly mathematical mistake and can cost the entire question, even if we dominate the formula. Im asking also this because in real life scenario in order to calculate and verify accurately you will need the calculator anyways.

I was wondering the same thing. I read at the experiences section (I think) that we're given something to write on, well, if that's true it's better than nothing 'cause I need to draw or write something from time to time. so, I add another question: Do we receive something to write on?

in old outdated format you were allowed to write on the special laminated paper - they gave it to me but it turned out that my marker can't write on it, so I failed to calculate one biostatistic question at the end of one block - there was no time to change my paper and pen. I guess in the new FRED format they will not give you paper, but you will be allowed to make your own notes in the special window - not sure about this - check it out on the usmle.org
