I would like to know what would serve me as the best approach, i was thinking of reading all of the following review materials at hand :

First of All best of luck to all of you.
i cannot give you some prpper advise but i can share some lessons i learned during my prep.
first of all Establish A Routine. it is going to be longer than any exam you have ever taken. So it is vital to have a routine.
Select your resources once and than stick to them. changing resources is the worst waste of time and money. and it causes alot of confusion.
Solve Qs daily. make it a habit.
kaplan lectures are good. so if you can afford them you should go for them.
no distractions during study.
do it fast. later you will be only surprised how time passes so quickly.
it would be great if you can find study partner or place where other people are also preparing for step one.
you will find alot of free stuff on web, like notes, charts etc. my advise is not to go for it. it only wastes time. and you can never be 100 % that they are correct. stick to the standerd books and make your own notes if you can.

All the best

Malik,

Thanks for taking the time to give me some great advice, you are so right, best to stick to a routine and staying with the standard materials. Also thanks to others who have posted their imput.
Malik also when did you do your exam and what materials did you use etc ?

Anyone who would like to partner for review - am available, i imagine we would set goals for the week and then at the end of the week we review our progress and exchange ideas on topics or questions. If you are interested let me know, am aiming to do my exam mid-august or end of august.
My aim is to get through most of the reading material very early on and then towards the end concentrate on review questions, qbank

Good luck to all

Welcome all newcomers to this prep world. I agree with all Malik suggestions. But want to add this thing that its a little harder than we anticipate it beacuse it is a lengthy process with lots of up and downs .So Please take care of your self both physically and emotionly by doing good exercise, eating healthy food and taking small refreshing breaks. Plus after 2nd reading from which ever source u pick all the next readings gets better. ANd the exam is about application of knoeledge so doing Qs is vital to understand what type of exam it is, very different for IMG's but doable and the best thing good technique and hard work are the keys for the succes in this exam.

GL to all of u.

Hi!

I have already passed all the steps. I failed step 1 once, because I didn't practice questions. So, my advice will be to go for the Kaplan notes like I did. Actually, I did the web prep for step 1, which was GREAT, and during the last month I practice a lot of questions in the qbank... Also, I think that your scores in the qbank are good indicators of your real exam scores, so read the score threads in this forum.

Good luck
