IMG from Mexico, green card holder, No USCE, No US LOR. Graduated 2003. 1 year clinical and research experience in my homecountry but no publications.Honors in some semesters in medical school. 4 LOR from Mexico. Matched at my #1 : Internal Medicine, Santa Barbara I felt my interview went very well. GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!!!

Hey! This information is very very useful and relaxing... so THANK YOU ALL and contratulations for your match/prematch, I'm sure you all deserve it. I was pretty scared by the fact that don't have USCE or LOR, but now I'm feeling more confident about my possibilities. I have one question... I checked the webpage of some of those programs you people mathed, most has as a requisite USCE or 90+ scores, but even though some of you got it with no USCE of <90! So what I want to know if U did something extra, or if programs are quite flexible about their requisites? Again thanks, and Enjoy your residency!!

Hi guys, I admire your achievements. I wish I can be one of you in my 2007 match, I have a question that's unrelated to this thread but please answer if you know, is it true that All IM programs in California don't sponsor H1 visa? I am currently living in California, and if it's true, I don't need to take the bother to apply the california letter. Many many thanks!!!!

As many of you, I am an IMG. I graduated in 2002. I have worked for two years, and have been a stay at home mom for another two years...so that makes a total of four years scince my graduation. My step 1 score is 90, and step 2ck is 97...I havent done cs yet ( it's scheduled for october 4th). I really am confused about which programs I should apply to. It seems most of the visitors of this forum arent very enthusiastic about surgical programs...See the problem is that I just love the OR, so I really would like to apply for some surgical field, be it plastic, or neurosurgery, or ENT....or Ophthalmology...But what do think guys, is there any hope at all that I could get a position in any of those fields???????...In general, what programs do you think an IMG with my scores couldget...keep in mind that I am not a green card holder. thanks a lot you guys.

Anyone with less than excellent exam scores match?!!?? Exams: scores aren't all 99's. Quite a bit further down on the scale. Graduated: Germany 2003 ECFMG: Certified Jan 2006 Appl: Transitional year/ IM preliminary/Diagnostic Radiolgy for PGY2 Publications: about 5 or 6 USCE: Yes, in Virginia Visas: US citizen Applied to: 86 programs, in above-mentioned subjects. Mood: Nervous, and certainly not good.
