I too am in the process of becoming certified, so when I applied did not have ECFMG certification. Did have 10 months of USCE via a convenium between my university and a U.S. hospital. 91/93/Pass CS/citizen/2005 grad As you all may very well be aware, this year's match was brutal for General Surg....only 1 unfilled position in the whole country. Lots of programs opened up prelim spots to fit unmatched ENT/Ortho/Uro...etc (rumors anyways). I feel extremely lucky I matched into the program I wanted. Good luck to all you future surgeons and the paths you take to get there.
