well my opinion is different from others

about 90%of the questions are the old same in the cd.
the rest 10 % questions in the cd are being replaced by a new quesiton on the online q bank. so the number of question you get to do will be the same. the only thing you dont get is the timed mode on the cd format.......but for kaplan q bank i would say whether it is a online qbank or cd q bank time is not the matter because you will notice that whatso ever q bank you do you will be able to complete it in 40 to 45 min which is not the case in the real exam where it takes 55 to 58 min.

but all that matters is the topics covered.....topics covered in the cd qbank and the online q bank are the same ....i mean all topics will be covered in the cd q bank so you need not spend 250$(whatever) just for a few 30 - 40 new questions.

i myself did q bank cd version and got 99. a friend of mine was impatient to buy online q bank and got 89.....i dont mean the online q bank was not good but ultimately what matters is your hard work.....and off course the KAPLAN Q BANK....

so if you have a kaplan qbank CD dont mind buying a online one.
it kaplan policy to put a few questions new just to keep it selling and making money

First of all, I don't know what is actually on your CD, so I can't comment on it.
Then, more than 1000 out of total 2000 questions of Kaplan Qbank are about pathology - you can get the same amount of the best pathology MCQs for only $ 40 if you buy 'Robbins & Cotran Review of Pathology'. Add to this MCQs from www.webpath (it's free) and Qbook and it will be much, much more than enough.
Now, decide - do you want to spend $199 (1 month) on the Kaplan Qbank's remaining 1000 MCQs?

I hear you. I have the Qbank CD, and this is what I do: I have a simple Excel Spreadsheat that lets me keep track of my overall score. I simply enter the Numbers correct/Incorrect, and it spits out a percentage. I also include the subject, (path micro, etc.) and the source (Qbank, Qbook, Robbins Review of Path etc.). This allows me to keep track of my score in a similar manner Qbank would if I were to pay $199/month. (Whether or not I can personally go through the entire Qbank of >2000 Questions in one month is another matter) I can also make it keep track of every question I have done, therefore giving me a cumulative percentage just like the Qbank would.

Regarding the timed issue: I simply run a USMLE timer (this can be found in many programs, but I use LWW Board simulator, and leave it running in the background while I go through Qbank questions.
