Hi,
I am an medical graduate from india, working in a doctors office as research coordinator, on H1 visa and trying to get into residency now. i have not yet taken step 3. and now my problem is i have to know
1. can i transfer my existing H1 visa for the residency program
2. is it the same or is there a difference for both the visas like H1b etc
3. is it necessary that i have to take step 3 for getting a residency. this is the topic that i frequently encountered while trying to apply. i mean is it absolutely essential , bcoz for people with j1 visa its not.
kindly help me with this.

To transfer your H visa from research to clinical - you need step 3.
