What difficulties might be experienced by IMGs > 7 yrs old for getting interviews & IM residency?

I'm giving step1.How can i improve my chances for 2008 match.I have NO research experience.

What r expectations of PDs w.r.t. IMGs on b1/b2 visa?

PDs dont have anything to do with IMGs on B1-2 Visa.

If you are involved with continuous medical education since 7 years it doesnt matter.

Goodluck to you

Gladiator,

I am an old graduate (5 yrs) who got matched this year. It was a very tumultous journey to get here. These are the potential areas you can improve in:

1. Get good scores

2. US clinical experience (Externship)

3. 3 US LORs (from Physicans)

4. Practice as many mock interviews as possible. The key to answering in interviews is your ability to give good examples and to convey to them that you are a real THINKER. (Don't get intimidated if they ask you about what you have been doing in these last 5 or 7 years... and do NOT try to evade this question quickly. Talk confidently about what lessons you have learnt from each of your work experience. EXPECT this question in every interview! Your ability to answer this question well can get you the spot)

I hope that helps. Good luck,

Sri

My scores are step 1-95, step 2-93, CS-pass. Having scores of 90+ make it easier to get interviews.
