After taking an overdose of propranolol, a 35 yr old woman developes sinus bradycardia and syncope. In order to stimulate the same second messenger system that is activated by ¦Â-adrenergic receptors, which of the following drugs will be most effective to increase her heart rate?

positive inotropic and chronotropic , not via activation of beta1 , but through glucagon receptors that are G - protein linked to adenylyl cyclase . so it is used in beta blocker overdose.

Correct heart tissue has glucagon receptor i read some where but cant remember . plz tell me ??raised eyebrow

YES for b block overdose is GLUCAGON .

PHENILEFRINE is alpha agonist , so it increase the blood pressure not the heart rate

the heart is beta an ONLY BETA, , phenylephrine could cause a reflex brady cardia but glucagon is correct.

aisha,, alpha 1 works thur PIP2 system, not alpha 2
