All kinds of research can be found here in USA, the only problem is what's your interest. Scientific research is mainly carried out by two ways, one is in the Department of University, the other is in the government institute, like NIH. Some companies also conduct research, but they are more commercial. Usually if you're offered a post by a University, they will sign you the document necessary for obtaining the visa, and that's basically all you need for the visa. At this point, American are more friendly. To find potential research post, you can refer to some public advertisement online, like NIH web. Some journal also provides job ads, like nature, science. More specific way is to go to the website of the University, there usually is job page telling you post vacancy. Hope these can be help.

Hi, I starting doing research in Harvard, for free, until I learned enough and I tell my boss that I need the money, he agree to payme but take a long time for the Visa papers, so if you are willing to sacrifice until you can star the residency I sugest do some research, however, if you have previus research experience, as more of the fellows fron India are you will not have problem to do it, good luck

Then you need to learn some basic research knowledge first. I suggest you volunteer some lab technician or assistant job in the lab there in Uk, to gain some experience first. It's not easy to get a pure training position here in US without any previous experience. You got to have some skill first, especially for a non-American. By the way, would you please tell me what is the first thing one need to do to become a doctor in UK. Thank you.

hi there ..in UK to become a doctor . a foreign medical graduate needs pass an exam called the PLAB or proffessional and lingusitic assessment board . This consists of passing the IELTS with band 7.0 or more , then PLAB 1 whcih is a clinical thoery exam with EMQS . and then ...PLAB 2 which is basically an OSCE based exam . Then ...the next thing ..is apply for jobs . for PRHO and SHO training . if luck favors you would get inyo one of these . after sufficient SHO training ..you can apply for registrar jobs . each job lasts 6 months usually and can ...last till 1 year or 2 . basically its getting tougher and tougher for fmgs over here !! and the 6 months thing is really frustrating . you have to search over and over again each 6 months . regards drhag
