this scramble thing is really a bid dilemma.
only they r interested in us citizens
why they post so many positions if they want to give us a single one

I agree with u vancomycin.
the whole scramble process is a joke
I think its a waste of time for IMGs.
I talked to nearly 10 programs they either say the position is filled or they want only citizens.

i talked to 30 program
they said they want citizen only
but outside scramble they do sponser visa
my advise is tht if u did not match try to improve ur cv and dont waste time in tht scramble kind of thing
i was calling programes constantly all r on answering machine,fax lines r bz, eras limit only 30 pg
where to go wht to do

I am helping out a friend in the scramble. I never knew family medicine required a year of prelim medicine till today... This entire process is just pathetic... I don't see so many scramble success stories on the net.... maybe there is no such thing???

although i am a us citizen (IMG though) i did not get matched in the scramble in psych. i feel in psych it is important to have done a psych observership for an IMG. i did have a few good leads and am hopeful for tomorrow. good luck to all.

Cheer up..this scramble is pathetic but few people get lucky and find theier way out.

I really dont understand...I thought a lot of people would get a shot at the scramble, with 38 programs,in IM and as I can see, its getting filled at a steady slow rate...and some programs are not even moving...Is it because they are really thinking hard about candidates??? Then perhaps this thing is not on a first cum first basis...? Seems totally wierd..As always, scramble is a matter of unbelievable amount of luck I guess...Perhaps some people could try for both amily medicine and IM simultaneously..FM has so many unfilled positions...
But honestly, this is just a trial and error method..scramble is famous to be the way it is. Please dont loose hope, guys...I would agree with Vancomycin...working on improving your cv will be thoughtful for better chances....All the very best

I called the NRMP to ask about some inconsistencies between what some programs have told me and what the list shows. The list doesn't reflect the reality 100% , because the programs don't update their information in real time as soon as they fill a position. So if it still looks like there are vacancies it could only mean that the program hasn't updated the information yet. I know it says the list is updated every hour as programs fill their positions, but believe me it's not like that 100%. I myself have called several programs that still show vacancies yesterday, and been told that everything is filled and the list still shows vacancies for them. Sorry, but that's the bitter truth experienced by me first hand...

From a program point of view, we don't need to fill the positions IMMEDIATELY. It may be done next week, or the week after that,

FRISCAN: i agree, the list they post is NOT updated, several of them have filled all their positions.
if the match favors AMGs, the scramble does it twice or 3 or 4 times more. this is really pathetic.

Guys,
I applied for some programs thro ERAS.
When I tried to track the applications, it says that my USMLE scores are not uploaded to post office yet.Did I make any mistake? what should I do??
Please advice .Thanks

it seems to be that the last or the slowest document they upload is the USMLE transcript and ECFMG status report. I think there isnīt any problem.

u re right, i too was helping my brother in calling for scramble. even with excellent scores, they dont even care, believe it or not, family practice programs say we will only consider u, if u have one year us clinical experience, or paid experience in us or canada....
ridiculous, with one year clinical experienceand excellent scores as my brother has why would not one apply to internal med....
