Hello All,

I am an OLD IMG getting ready to give the step 1 my best effort. Graduated in 1993, and have worked for all but 2 years since then mostly in India and the Middle East.

About resources that I plan to use:

For Overall Review:
  1. Kaplan notes and video lectures First Aid for step 1 Goljans audio and notes ( will first attempt his 36 pages, then try his 100 pages HY material, and see how much I can retain) Retired and selftest HY material Am trying to get a hold of Pass program details from someone

Subject -wise review:
  1. Pathology: FA,Kaplan, Goljan's path Microbio: FA,Kaplan, Micro made Ridulously Simple Biochem: FA,Kaplan. Goljan Anatomy: FA, Kaplan, Neuroanat made r.s.s. Physio: FA,Kaplan, Goljan Beh. Sc. : FA, Kaplan, Fadem Pharmacology : FA ,Kaplan so far...still figuring this one out any input would be good Immuno & Genetics : FA, Kaplan, Immunolgy basics...still figuring this one out as well

Question Resources:
  1. Kaplan q bank vignette Qbank Blueprints Goljan rapid review q book UW says they will have a step 1 site up and running by July this year...maybe i can fit a month of that in as well. underground clinical vignettes and platinum vignettes

Since I am an extremely aural learner ( as opposed to a visual one, /i ususallyr ead my text s into cassette tapes and listen to these, thru the day ....reading the text is usually my first revisin, then I hear, hear , hear it..then do the read review again.

Usually I do HY question material as I go along ..this helps reinforce key points during the course of study itself, and I plan to start with blueprints and goljan's q books side by side with basic review.

lots of good intentions ...leets see if i can prioritize my time correctly!

I have about 5.5 mos to do this prep in

Target to score in late 80s to early 90s

Lets see what REALLY happens

Today's and tomorrow's task: tranfer all First Aid pathology to tape.

good luck. i advise , as you are an aural learner, finish things quickly, as listening takes so much more time than reading. and as you are an old graduate, you will need to work hard as things are not fresh. all the best
