Hi

Congratulations for all of you who matched and good luck for those going into the Scramble.

Now, I would appreciate if you could answer this question:

Are we allowed to apply for a PGY1 position(internal med) after completing a Transitional Year?

Or we must apply only for a PGY2?

yes. the transitional year is meant for two extremes of people:

1. those who know they really want fields like surgery, ophtha and the like (for PGY2)
2. those who are still reflecting on what they wanna do with their lives (possible PGY1 or PGY2)
