While everybody else is thinking of step3 and upcoming residency, I am only thinking of where to travel now. Don't scold me for that.

But seems i can't start my vacation till this Thursday, what a waste of days ... but will make sure i take off in early Friday morning for my long deserved VACATION! yippeee.........

This is what happens on Thursday in my hospital: Once we know the names of our matched persons, we prepare contracts, welcome letters, packets with insurance information, visa applications, license applications, housing information, etc - that gets sent out express courier (DHL, Fed Ex) to the address on the ERAS application. If your ERAS application is overseas and has a PO box, I will contact that person to let them know that we need a street address to send the information to. There is a deadline to return items to us. Good luck to all.

BBB, thank you for answering, I asked that question because I will be gone out of state for two weeks starting next week (due to nature of my job, bread is necessary for life otherthan water n oxygen - ) so was worried about the time frame of contract. Off course also want to plan vacations............loooooooooooooooong

BBB, speaking of stuff that send to newbees..... what is the deadline to return these stuff to the hospital where one matched? Because I won't be back from my cruise untill the end of March. Is there anything that hospital needs from the new comers right away? Again, i am wondering because I won't be here ( I'll be on the Pacific ocean) if they need anything urgently..... any input on this? BTW, thanks for all your time and help throughout the years. Cheers to you! PS: I see you are jumping on a ship in TX..... wonder where the ship sails?

Ship sails from Galveston to places in Mexico. Different programs will have different requirements in regards to when to return things.

I heard back from my program, they have sent me/us congratulations letter/sheet with list of my furure collegues..............people of matched this year and have notified that we will be hearing from GME office to complete our applications ( I guess for state license) & contract in next few weeks. I think what we can do sit back n relax and arrange housing (resntal or buying) where ever we have matched wait for few months before jumping on the cruise ship. Anyone else have heard from thier program!!!!!!!
