i have two case scenarios.tell me what u think abt it.
1.a 13 yr old boy who is doing as usual in school.but at home he likes to stay in his room and listen to loud music and just stay away from all family members.he eats in his room.is this a normal adolescent behaviour or is this oppositional defiant disorder?

2.a 16 yr old girl comes to you and says that her father always shouts at her and scolds her for everything from studies to daily life things.she says she hates him a lot.but she doesnt tell her mom as she is sick and might get worser.what shd u do?
advice her that this is normal stresses of teenage life and work to resolve these matters
or contact child abuse authorities.

agree wth the first...

abt the second i think that too may be normal stressor of teenage life..however she needs to deal with it...maybe counselling and behavioral therapy...

well this was a nbme q..i dont remember the exact q.i just gave pointers from what i recalled.

as for the first i think its a normal kid.if not my younger brother has the same symptoms and he needs therapy toowink

as for the second i too answered that the girl is fine and needs a lil counselling to resolve these matters..but i was wondering it says in kaplan that child abuse can also be mental abuse..how would that apply on a teenager..anyone wanna add to this..

I consider both as normal behavior for their ages.nod
