Hi I was wondering if you can help me out.Any advice will be greatly appreciated.Exam in 2 days... ECFMG USMLE CD just finished now (March 12): 36,33,32 (101/150 = 67%) Nov 18ཁ NBME 1= 400 Dec 21ཁ NBME2 =420 March 8ག NBME3=370 Nov 29ཁ Kaplan sim 59% QBook = 61% Qbank=59% (incorrect 2nd review = 62%) I was not able to review intensively from half of Jan to Feb due to family problems. But since March I i've been studying 10+ hrs.My exam is March 14. What are my chances of passing? Im worried about NBME3 score. I am thinking of doing nbme4 tom and see if I get above 400, I will go for the exam. But if below, just pay $685 again. P.S. I am done with Step 2CK =78; just CS left to go... Thanks in advance.

hey marry u have exact credentials like mine.honestly dear, now i feel as I should have targeted atleast 450 on nbmes t have a safe margin.I cannot advice u as to take the exam or not,bcz u are in the passing range according to nbme results, look at your comfort level and I believe go for the exam only when deep down you feel confident.Everyone knows where he stands.

Hi, DrMary You are standing on the boundary of pass and fail. But you seem really want to do it. I would say positive part, you have more chance to pass. I still have the same opinion and the suggestions as I emailed you the first time. Especially, please remember my feeling during the test. Since you are brave enough to go for the test (I feel so), then do it with your full confidence. Thus I believe you could handle the test. Trust yourself. You could be much better than you thought about. Good luck!!!

Read and read your weakest subject.Read pathology and Physio. Read at least three times FA, GOLJANHY and if possible read at least once TOMMY HY. you still got plenty of time to raise it to above 450. Good luck!

hi Mary, I have been reading thru ur mail and found that urs is just the same kind of puzzle im in now. I scheduled my exam for july aug sep and planned to take it in july last. i started studying only in late feb and im nw studying 10 hrs a day, im still in my 1st read. bs im a slow reader and provided that i have to cover notes atleast twice, i planned to change exam date to sep. my prob is due to some family matters which are (u know unavoidable, ofcourse) i have to go for 1 month vacation from july half to aug (1 month), during which i dont know hw much can i revise. i will take Q bank in june before i go and start with my second read. what do u really feel nw after the vacation? did it really affect ur revision? r u still in touch with the topics as u used to be before the vacation? pls advise me. I am really confused and feeling depressed.as it is sep is the latest i can take the exam. or do u think i take exam in july itself before i go 4 vacation better? sorry to disturb u with this long letter . but i really need somebody's advise. thanks. all the luck in ur studies and exam.

drbin, I suggest you take your exam before you go on your vacation so that you are at your peak. Thats what I thought when i got back from my vacation. You can take the NBME exam and assess where you are about 4 weeks before the exam. You can polish up your weak areas then. Atleast you'll be done with your Step 1 exam and you can enjoy your vacation. Since you are studying 10hrs/day, I think by June, you will be ready to sit for the exam. Good luck!
