It just was funny how many and what kind of questions ppl ask...Veeryone is different...we also came from different backgrounds...its not like we start with same knowledge to study for steps...some people were great students, some were average...some have lots of reserach and publication, some have done residencies in theur countries already, some are straight out of med school....some have full time to study, some have families...everyone's case is different...How many times you review your books might not be enough for me, or can be more than I need (for latest I am not sure at this point of time Anyway, someone before me said all of those things already and I copied it in my journal just to remind me that we are all different and what might work for one, might not work for others... Enjoy your residency sharvil, and you really gave us lot from your experiences! Thank you and God bless your future!

I have a question..., I am currently in 3rd term and was wondering how did you study for your pathology during the semester? Did you read the Robbins? If so... which one? Big, Medium, or Baby. If not, what book did you use during the semester for your pathology?

Hi Shalin, Me from ahmedabad too!! Yes i gave both steps during internship, you have to study hard for your final mbbs to build a solid foundation for the usmle and residency...do a lot of volunteer work and get good LORs..... Hi Compassion MD, I used Baby Robbins, i think it is good enough for med school, thanks pipi99 good luck all of u

hi ruchenna, i m glad u r planning in advance for ur USMLE, i think u can concentrate on ur medical school studies first, because eventually whether u study for the usmle or for ur medical school it is the same stuff but with different approaches.....i did not combine both of them but thinking back about those things it think it is a great idea..........one way to do it is to go thru ur medical school text books and then solving usmle question books,,,, again for eras is the electronic residency application system, it is not required for u to have passed any of the usmles or obtained an ecfmg certificate in order to apply via ERAS, good luck, hope i answered most of ur questions sharvil

hi beautybrain, i would do a little bit more before suscribing usmleworld if i were in ur place, but again everyonhe has a different approach regarding preparing for exams, however i would read more, at least cover > 70% of curriculum prior to suscribing usmle world....

Does anyone know what happened to the link for "exam thread". I keep getting a failure message. This link was very helpful because it compiled the scores of other students for USMLE CD, NBME, UW, etc... and the students real score. I used it for my preparation for Step 1 and want to use it again for step 2. I'll add my scores and hope it is helpful to others. UW = 57% (started 4 mo. prior to exam ranged from 48%-68%) Q-Book = 66% (3 months prior to exam) USMLE CD = 74% (1 month prior to the exam) NBME 1 = 440 (3 weeks prior to exam) NBME 3 = 480 (1 week prior to exam) USMLE 1 = 218/90

Hi Sharvil, I just started not so long ago and found your tread very informative. I am listening to the Goljan pathology lecture but don't know where to find the question part. Could you let me know the full name of the Goljan patho book or other sources that you suggest step1 takers to do questions from. thanks so much. P.S. I searched the Goljan 5 star pathology but didn't find such a thing.

too many details ... that's makes us concerning about the method of prepration more than the studying itself .....
