hi Sharvil, Like to know you and everybody here. i am a 5th/6 med stud at Tokyo. I am planning to take the step 1 with score more than 95%, even though many guys around said that it is impossible. So I feel really really much more confident and willing to studying harder for the Apr exam. I scheduled my exam in 07 april to ensure the best prep.... Thanks a lot for ur word....u the best

I am taking my USMLE step1 exams in January
I have read first Aid and i am planning to start kaplan lecture notes and q bank now
Do you think i have to read each kaplan book as i dont think i will have enough time to do q bank
or should i start q bank and use kplan books for reference whenver i dont know the answers to questions

hi peeps,
does anyone know if the kaplan lectures notes are same as the kaplan home study kit? or would we still need to liste to the kplan dvd's/vids even with the study kit?

Hi, I graduated from a chinese medi uni 8 years ago. Now I am planning to take the exam. Could you please kindly tell me the procedure? Get ECFMG certi and then apply Step 1, is that right?

I really like ur remedy to get 99s, it permeates me and does encourage me alot these days.....I have been badly badly busy with my clerkship rotaion almost 12 hrs at hospital so honestly speaking, it is so impossible to study for step1 eveyday.....but ur written really save me and accelerate my ennergy store double ....I think not just me but all who ever read ur will figure out the way to go ahead...God bless u...
I am a 5th med student and scheduled my step1 next year may 2007 and try to speed myself to obtain the step2 before Oct 2007...i am a foreing med student in Jap so I really dont wanna do residency in Jap...coz i think it is a kind of waste to do spend 2 years residency in Jap when I determined not practise medicine here...
so my question is do u think or do u know whether it is possible for a brand new IMG who have neither clinial experience nor post graduate residency ,except for clerkship during med school, to win a chance in 2008 match....

yes u can get a residency in the usa
it is the land of opportunity, once u r done with med school try to come to hte usa and do some research/clinical work, also while in med school try to schedule an elective rotation in the usa, that will help enormously

hi sharvil,first of all thanks a lot.What you wrote and have been suggesting has worked for many,inspired a lot more and is sure to help many who choose to take usmle.thanks and may god bless you.good luck with all.
i went through what you wrote and suggested.i have my exam scheduled for the 16th of feb'07,followed by cs scheduled for 30th feb. i need ur advice regarding how to go about my prep from now on. i have taken the exam once and couldnt pass it.been reading for some time.i know some of my stuff but am really weak with path and pharm.no matter how much i read,over time i forget.cant correlate stuff.took kaplan live lectures,but its so volatile,i simply need to go back to books so very often.pls suggest.even a month before my exam i feel a need to go back to the text rather than doing questions.the problem is i cant postpone no more and have to make it to the 2008 match,and am yet to give step 2 ck as well..please suggest...asap..thanks and once again,thanks for making a difference to so many of us.good luck,and may you have a wonderful and successful year ahead.

1st of all cong: and i m very impress, plztell what i do now, i m very anxious.i complete 2nd read of patho,physio,bio,b/science, with dvd & kaplan Q bank, patho 61%, phisio60%, bio 56%, b/science 40%.my triplet march-may, i think i forget lot of which i read, i will do in future,U/WORLD, NBME & CDs. can u tell me how i prepare & what i do now.tell me how i reach my destination ,how kaplan minimum read require ,when i start u/world nbme ,or change triplet if i have less time, plz reply as soon as possible i m waiting .thanx

i ve been reading most of ur posts.....congrats for residency....u deserve it.....u r the realmotivation in this site...m new here...just started wth kaplan notes .....graduated in 2000.....was bright student in med school....but later circumstances did not let me carry on with my usmle.....i get stuck doing notes until my concept is clear...and i cant move forward and waste lot of time....as it is i just manage to study 3 , 4 hrs a day...and i want to give in jan 2008...is it possible?do i have to go thru texts again?i just cant cramm...please suggest me

this guy is a real genious.. me and him are from the same med school.. he is 2 years senior to me though.. but was a source of motivation for me too at my med school.. i agree with meddoc2000 he is a real source of motivation even on this site..
