what one has to do basically during extern and observership during USCE..pls help me get some information.

No clue. My hospital doesn't offer extern or observership positions.

Try to get as much exposure as possible, try to rotate in an are of the hospital were you will see most pathology, if applying for IM dont rotate in OB-gyn, take notes, read, impress the doctors around, get good LORs. Dot do ER, its hectic, wont learn much. Give a good impression, and you will get compesated in the future.
