I have graduated back in 2000 and working full time since I finished my residency. I have already taken the Step 2 and decided to take the Step 1 because I only had 8 months to do it (took step 2 in 1999). I have used only Kaplan notes and FA. It was a very difficult exam, that I took one month ago, but I did the oasis trick and it said that I have passed. As I haven't had much time to prepare, I can"t advice here how to score high, and I don't expect a great score, but I can tell you that the exam is doable, and , from my experience, that if you do not have much time to prepare, stick to one good source that you will have a good chance. Good luck!

Finally I have got my score ( 2 weeks after the score was reported). I have got 227/92. That was a surprise since I was specting something close to 80-82. I didn`t do Q bank NBME or anything like that. I have done only the USMLE sample CD and got 75% in all 3 blocks. I am writting here to encourage people that havn`t got much time to study, that it is possible to pass this step if you have discipine and focus. I would like to thank this forum for the support.

Thank you everybody. Aliya, I am an IMG from South America. If you organize your time and follow a well planned schedule you can do great. Good luck

Dr Sarim, I am pretty sure that you need step 1 to enter the match and ECFMG certificate to start residency in US. I have finished my residency in my country, not in US.
