Hi!
Is there anyone who can share advice on when is the latest date to apply for the CS exam to make it in time for 2007match? i hear CS exam positions are filling up rapidly..and hv almost run out out of space.
my situation is that i hv only just attempted step1 and still have step 2 and CS to take. Is it recommended at this time to attempt CS before step2CK? in what months approx?? I wud really appreciate an insight of anyone's schedule for an example.

drk...you need to have a scheduled a testing date by the 1st of july at the latest.This,however doesnot mean that you need to take the test before july.To be eligible for the 2007 match CS can be taken as late as 31st of dec '06.
Lots of people are opting to take CS before CK because of the new score reporting schedule.It would be ideal to be ECFMG certified come application time but we can apply with whatever scores we have with us...keeping in mind that it may well have an effect on the number of interviews one lands.I plan on taking CK around the first week of june and then CS by the end of june.I'll be expecting my results for CS anytime between aug 16th-sept 13th.The ECFMG website says it takes about two weeks to get the entire certification process out of the way(although I have come across people complaining that it takes longer!).This is what my plan is and I just hope it goes well.

Hv u already sent in ur application for CS? As for me, Iam very unsure of how long it wud take me till iam done with step 2. 1 took way longer than i had anticipated...not the learning process, just the time frame from the date of application till my exam day! And i really dont wish to pay that hefty fine for postponing CS exam incase iam not ready! Are u aware of how fast the slots r filling up? Say one decides to apply in june, to take CS in august....are thr chances of getting a seat?
BTW, are there special requirements to apply with one step scores alone? thanks once again...

While studying for CK - do send in ur application for CS ...a practical approach :-)
u will get a permit for a year ...so u wont have to postpone...take ur date and plan accordingly , since u will only need 15 days to be with CS prep as mentioned on CSprotocol.blogspot.com/
none step score alone ? yes u can apply and mention on ERAS about when u will be done with the other steps - but the number of calls u will get will be much lesser....
