can i take my step 2 cs in august 2006 for 2007 match????will i be able to make it ....if not ccan anybody suggest me a likely last date for step 2 cs to get in to the 2007 match......

I took my cs August 31 and it worked ok with me. But I was fortunate to get my result by the third wednesday, which I heard is not very common.

Here's the new reporting schedule for the CS from the ECFMG reporter:

Step 2 CS 2006 Reporting Schedule

For Examinees who test Jan 1 through Feb 25, the reporting period is Mar 29 - Apr 26.
For Examinees who test Feb 26 through Apr 22, the reporting period is May 24 - Jun 21.
For Examinees who test Apr 23 through May 20, the reporting period is Jun 21 - Jul 19.
For Examinees who test May 21 through Jul 15, the reporting period is Aug 16 - Sep 13.
For Examinees who test Jul 16 through Sep 9, the reporting period is Oct 11 - Nov 8.sticking out tongue
For Examinees who test Sep 10 through Nov 4, the reporting period is Dec 6 - Jan 3, 2007.
For Examinees who test Nov 5 through Dec 31, the reporting period is Jan 31, 2007 - Feb 21, 2007.


Technically, you'll still make it to the match but you won't have a completed application and ECFMG certificate when ERAS opens in September. Nevertheless, you can take a calculated risk and apply for the match already in September since a lot of PDs look mainly at the at Step 1 and Step 2 CK. It would be an advantage though if you take the CS early. god bless

try to schedule it now because after july will be very difficult to find an empty date, at least this is what a recent e-mail from ECFMG say. GL
