approx how many interviews a person should have to feel confident that he will match. i know that some match with just one interview and some dont match with many. but i wanna ask usually whats the trend over the years. whats the average number of inteviews those candidates had who matched.

I read somewhere a candidate has a chance of >60% matching in his/her top 3 programs. Otherwise there is no guarantee on anything. You'll just have to wait till Monday to see what happens.....all of us ranging from 1-20+ interviews are deeply worried at the outcome of the match but we must face the truth when it comes. Till then all the best....

I saw a list somewhere on the nrmp website which showed that the average length of the ROL of people who match was approximately 8 and for those that don't match was approx 5. So the longer your list the better chances you have of matching. Basic high school probability smiling face

Having said that, its ofcourse possible that you have 20 places in your list and yet not match.

The same can be said for having only 3 programs on your list, and matching. The glass is either half empty or half full, in the end...it's just a crap shoot.

i have just one program in the ROL. i will definitely have to try postmatch. i am in such a condition that i cannot scramble myself. so i have applied for fmgamerica for scramble.

well i think if somebody has a list of 10+ then it would be very unlucky not to match.considering the fact that anyone got 10+ interviews in the first place means he is most likely a good candidate.its good to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best! good luck y'all.
