in first aid, i came across a case where a female presents with bodily injuries( says fell from stairs)...hospitalized few months ago with other phys inj., presents to office with husband
how do we approach such a case...do we take a routine history with husband present and then make him leave during phys exam and then ask the woman for history of abuse. or do we ask husband to leave room before starting history ? in such cases, do we have to take any history from husband?

To maintain confidentality, husband's absence is essential. no need for taking history from husband. just make sure to address husband politely.
