Truncus arteriosus is aorta and pulm artery to gether i.e. undivided - both aorta and main pulm artery are formed from TA. Ductus arteriosus is a seperate vessel connecting lt pulm artery with aorta.

pls explain function of superior oblique mus. I think it causes abduction and depression of eyeball(intortion) but some times it is written as it causes adduction so that it helps in reading books and climb downstairs. which is correct- adduction or abduction?

Superior oblique- primarily intorter, next depressor and lastly abductor. Usually we need the depressor function to read. However for the depressor function of the SO to be effective, we need to adduct (to enable the SO to do only depression-obviously when it is trying to do 2 jobs, it isn't as effective-just common sense) and depress the eyeball. Even in clinical testing, one tests depression in adducted position. The reverse is true for inferior rectus. It acts well in abducted position. HP
