why dont you apply for neuro match after your first year residency, normally u get four years of neuro straight including first year as prilim, yes if u want to do md in internal medicine and then go for neuro by all means u can do so but why waste two years when all u want to specialise is in neurology? By the way even yale went unmatched in neuro this year so u will have very bright chances. GL

A couple of my classmates who applied this year have given me an idea that neurology is easier to get that internal medicine this year. I dont know how far that is true. But one of my classmates, who did not take part in the match neurology match because she had got her step1 result late, Got pediatric neurology at a very prestigeous university.

Thank you for answering my query in IM/ Neuro. I'd like to have dual board certification.I was wondering if any one of you know specifically of anyone who did it before.
