Hi..>!
I will be starting my final year classes this january....the subjects are gyne/obs, surgery, med, paeds, ent and eye. My plan is to also keep preparing for usmle 2 during my final year and give it as after my final year result comes..!
CAN ANYONE OF U PLZ ADVIC ME AS TO THE PROS AND CONS OF GIVING STEP 2 FIRST..!

hi,
i just did step 2 yesterday and i am going to take step 1 next year, so i did what you are planning to do.
i graduated a few months ago and had an oral exam in med,peds,ob/gyn and surgery, so i just added 1 month of studying (after a three weeks break where i moved here to the states, i just did first aid for step 2 and the nms and mock exam questions) and took step 2.
of course i still cant tell you what the real outcome was, but i felt as if i made the right decision.
of course you will ahve to decide for yourself, but if you are studying that high yield subjects anyway it makes sense to me.

ctually i have made my mind.>! i am goin to prepare for step 2 along with final year...and plan to give step 2 within 2-3 months after final year result.!
i have started off with Medicine...just completed Respiratory..! in 8 days..next comes Cardio..
i am using First Aid, Boards and Wards and Current Med Diag for reference>! got crush the boards, prescription and kaplan notes as well..but will use them for review just before the step exam.!
hopefully will give the step 2 b/w March and May 2005..long way to go..Do pray 4 me
