I did some research on this topic. I observed IM comunity programs having a match quota of 10-15 positions for last year and finally going into the scramble. This year they are going in the match with only 1 or 2 positions ( offered many prematches), so they don't want to take the same risk. Not the same thing for last year's scramble university programs who offer the same number of positions for this match ( no prematches). All in all I expect a different list of hospitals for this year scramble. This is only my opinion. Good Luck, K1

Hazel, i dont recommend you to contact the programs. "Applicants who registered for the NRMP's Main Residency Match are prohibited by the Match Participation Agreement from contacting residency programs about unfilled positions prior to noon on Tuesday of Match Week, when the "Scramble" begins..... Regardless of whether you have registered with the NRMP or not, we strongly urge you not to contact any programs before Tuesday noon. Programs will take note of applicants who violate the Match rules and probably report them to the NRMP" http://www.ecfmg.org/eras/index.html
