hello,

1.i want to know what is the length of questions in the real exam?...is it Qbank type or longer?

2.if u guys have seen pathophysiology QBook, Can u tell me if the real exam questions are that tough?. for some strange reason...i am getting bad scores in pathphysio qbook...others subjects went fine?...i found them harder than nbme and qbank....what is the real correlation?

3.This other weird thing is happening to me...i am getting most of the questions right in the beginning of the block but after q#35 or so...i start getting them wrong ...when i check back...they r real silly mistakes....What did u guys do to increase ur concentration...?i know i will get tired

4.I am getting nervous that my brain will somehow stop working....mad is there anything i can do now?

my exam is on tuesday...so plz help me guys...

Hey Sarika...

I didn't do the Qbook, but did the Qbank and NBME form 1...I found the questions content on the exam to be quite similar to both NBME and Qbank (same topics were being tested) but the questions in the real exam tended to be a little longer...so expect that to happen in your exam too n' try to read fast thru the question stem....

...before i start scaring you there...remember they do have small one or two liners as well on the exam, which is kind of nice cos' it helps you make up for the lost time on the long-stem questions or difficult questions...

I think you are probably getting mentally exhausted by the time you are hiting 35...u really need to resolve that cos' its gonna bring ur score down in the exam...I'd recommend taking loads of chocolates n' coffee between the blocks n' to take a 5 minute break after EACH block where you can use the restroom to wash your face..it worked for me n' I felt uite refreshed and ready to tackle another block.

GL Sarika..keep your cool, stay focused...you are almost there...GOD speed ahead!!nod

Hey sarika...

As Doc2378 has said...its going to be a mix of questions. You will have plenty of one liners but be prepared for longer stems too.Try your best to read through the questions fast(but carefully ofcourse).Don't get stuck on a question....if you're not sure...check an option, mark the question if you want and move on....its better to save time and review questions later than spend 3 min on one question and run out of time as you near the end of a block. If you've timed yourself while doing Q bank....you shouldn't have a problem in the real exam....just keep your cool..smiling face

I think it probably is nerves at this point in time which are making you mess up on the Q book pathophys....just analyse if there are any particular topics you might not be doing well on and review those...you'll be fine.

One does get exhausted....especially on blocks towards the end...so time your breaks well....splashing water on the face is refreshing. As much as I love chocolate...I didn't take any to the exam...I feel that while they do give you that momentary high...they actually slow you down later...maybe its just me.I'd suggest taking some protein bars.Red bull did wonders for me..smiling face...(although I think that was the reason I couldn't sleep the night after the exam).

The very best of luck to you sarika!

Thankyou all for ur advice....

its that point in my life where coffee is not doing anything to me...i am so sleepy all the time....now i am afraid i dont sleep in front of the monitor that daygrin...did physio today...now will revise BS...tomorrow is for anatomy micro pharma (lol like i will be able to do all that in one day) while on monday i am thinking abt taking a break (which i am sure not gonna happen because of my OCDwink)....i am not taking another NBME because it has a history of making me down...so i'm gonna go to the exam just like that....waiting for my miracle to happen....its where a man (or women) has exhausted his or her powers and resources...Its all in the hands of God Almighty now...so i am praying....nod and hoping for the best..

Goodluck to all of u too...
