yes it does disppaear. It is the epiblast the is the source of three primary layers from which all body components are derived.

It gives ectoderm,mesoderm and endorm.

well, I gotta act smart! Due to the principle "nothing is lost, it is all transformed" (it is the exact translation from romanian, so it might not be the same principle in english), I must say it does not disapear shaking head it undergoes apoptosis and each cell's place is taken by cells from the epiblast wink

Is it right to say it origins vestigial structures? confused

I don't think so,because we haven't heard of any anatomical structure that is derived directly or indirectly form the hypoblast.

Epiblast cells migrate from the primitive streak downward, replacing the original hypoblast with definitive endoderm.

no,I don't think it disapears completely, long time ago they thought that th hypoblast will give the endoderm but now we know that there are migrating cells from the epiblast which will invaginate and enter between cells of hypoblast to form the endoderm.so we can say that hypoblast will help in forming the endoderm.
any way hypoblast will give cells that form the wall of primitive yolk sack. regards

Hello to everyone

To reply to the dandrof's question,
I can say that From Hypoblast develops the primitive yolk sac then it develops to definitive yolk sac . That is why i agree with ManuNastai, ''nothing lost, all is transformed''

I hope it would be usefull for all of you.
