Hello Rapport,I have 2004 books because i joined 30 day course in 2004.unfortunately i couuldnt give the exam the same year.I am giving the exam this march.so i went back to the center to check the new books(they allowed me to do so as i am doing the q-bank right now) now coming to the point Pathology-few changes, still not agood book for step-1.use BRS +FA+pictures from robins or web path(i havent used webpath, instead i have a cd(images)from kaplan. Pharmacology-2004 still holds good.THey have organized details in a better way-like good tables.Content is more or less the same.FA is very good for the final review. Biochem & Genetics-i didnt read boichem part,i dont think there is any imp addition.Genetics-Beautiful iistrations, for eg:Praderwilli and Angelman syndromeare explained really well with better pictures.Almost 90% of the contents are same with 2004 book. Anatomy(few changes),Micro, immuno, behavioral Science,Physio-same books. Summary-You are good withyour 2004 books,Please take Q-bank as all imp points are covered in the explanations.(sorry for the detailed explanation,I didnt want you to have any doubt in your mind for it may reduce your confidence) this is just my opinion.Feel free to ask if you have further questions

I was talking about the Kaplan pathology book. i do not think it is still a good book. You can see from the exam experiences here that pathophysiology is the bulk of the exam. and half of the total q-bank is about patho, physio and pathophysio.I used BRS,FA and some parts from Robins(which i do not recommend if you dont have much time).i have hand written notes from Robins and q-bank explanations. for CT and Slides i havent done anything particularly.I could answer reasonable no of qs with ct fron q-bank(the stem often has some clue) The pathology image cd was a part of the package (books+this cd)i got when i joined Kaplan.Planning to use towards the end.quick browsing revealed that it contains histo slides. as i told you before Robins book helped me with this. i dont know if there is any special book to refer CT,MRI& X-RAY. Kaplan immuno is the same according to me(i looked into almost all the pages and tables)May be some new pictures are added +Few more clinical examples. If you still feel that you need to read the new book, buy that single book(i dont think your scores will come down if you read 2004 book). If you have already read the 2004 book once it would be nice to stick to it.(please decide according to your comfort level) For Behavioral science I am planning to use Kaplan book(2004)and some parts of BRS if i have time(its funny that still i havent started reading this book)I am keeping Micro Immuno and Behavioral Science and of cours neuro anatomy to the later half of revision as i think i need to remember many points in these subjects.I have High yield neuroanatomy . that contains few CT. I hope my answers are of some help.

I havent opened the beh,sc book,so i dont know which chapters to select from that &I havent given exam yet.so look into the exam exp to get an idea. i dont think it is wise to read a lot of books .Plan a schedule accor to your time limit.study plan is unique for everyperson.Make one for your self and move on . I dont have webpath,so i cannot say anything about that. I made the mistake of reading unwanted things in the beginning(like katzung pharmac,i am not saying it is useless.but it is really time consuming and you tend to forget a lot).so read what you have in your hand. I am sorry.

Well Jackie,it is best if you can buy the new books(only if you are comfortable spending that amount of money). I do not know about 2002 books, but i do know that there are no major differences between 2004 & 2005-2006 editions so as to affect your score really bad. If you think you have time to go through the new notes(since you have already read your notes once, you may have to think about this),you can entertain the idea of buying the new set. OR you can try doing the q-bank and look at the scores.that can give you a feed back about what to do,and it is a good tool to study as well as to develop exam taking strategy.

For whose asking about the difference between 2002 and 2004 Kaplan notes; I am using 2002 for my study and had a chance to look at 2004 notes. Really, they are more or less the same, may be few things, but do not care..you can use Kaplan Q bank to complete the few updates.. and will of course do that.
