Why does siatic nerve injury cause loss of sensation of post thigh, leg except medial???
I thaught the sensation of the post thigh came from thepost cutaneous of the thigh derived from the sacral plexus!!!!
i also know that all the backofthe leg is innervatedby the tibial andthe front by bothcommonperoneal nerve and the saphenous(branch of the tibial) so whythemedial exception???

i am sorry, of course the saphenous is a branch of the femoral nerve. Still, does anyone have solid evidence that siatic nerve injury doesn't cause loss of sensation of the back of thigh??

sciatic nerve supplies the back of the thigh via the post cut nerve of the thigh. that is teh reason why pain of sciatica is referred to that region.
