70 yr old man has severe athersclerotic disease of abdominal aorta that obstructs the ostia of the superior and inferior mesenteric arteries. He has intermittent episodes of abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea. Which of the following regions of bowel is likely to be most severely affected. A. Ascending Colon B. Descending Colon C. Hepatic Flexure D. Splenic Flexure E. Trasnverse Colon Note: I understand the different structures of the GI supplied by each of the arteries from the aorta...so please explain WHY for the answer. Thanks.
