Hey IMG survivor.. I understand your dilema as I am in a similar position as you...can't quit work as it pays the bills and the exhorbitant fees for this exam...since we don't have the luxury to take a long break to study for this exam so the preparation has to go on besides work. I'd advise you to take an extension on your eligibility period if you are not ready for this exam...I know it costs a lot of money (? $685)....but hey you don't want to fail this exam and have to register for it again. But before you extend your eligibility, try to realistically assess your chances by taking some diagnostic tests, reviewing your weak areas, taking NBME etc...if you have a reasonable chance of passing and are satisfied by your performances on these exams...DONT extend your period. Also, try to get as much studying done on weekends n' nights (take a half n' hour or an hours nap after you come back from work, you'll feel refreshed)...also try to review stuff while commuting...get an MP3 player in your car if you don't have one laready and get hold of your Goljan tapes...you can play them while commuting or while doing lab work...that way you don't waste any time and at the same time you'll get thru with Pathology... These are only few of the suggestions I can come up with at the moment...but am sure others can help more... Good luck buddy n' keep working away...
