Spinal Nerves are named according to the location of which vertebrae the exit near. -Cervical spinal nerves are named according to the LOWER of the two vertebra that it exits between: e.g. Nerve C3 is between C2 and C3. -All others (Thoracic, Lumbar, and Sacras) spinal nerves are named according to the UPPER vertebrae that it exits near. e.g. Nerve T2 is between T2 and T3 How are intervertebral discs named?

THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN DISCUSSED IN OTHER FORUM. THE IDEA IS THAT THE NERVE ROOT EMERGES AT A HIGHER LEVEL THASN THE HERNIATION,HOWEVER, THE DIC GETS THE ROOT THAT IS ABOUT TO GO THROUGH THE NEXT FORAMEN.
