Hi there people , i havent been looking at this forum for a while though been following the match support forum and posting there now and then . But i thought i should write about how i felt about step 3 and hopefully it helps those who are giving the exam sooner or later. i thought step 3 was similar to step 2 exam with more emphasis on outpatient care. There are nearly 5 blocks dedicated to outpatient management . and thats nearly 250 questions. hmmm..i would definitely spend some time reviewing and emphasising on simple outpatient management stuff. somebody told me that swansons family practice review was good on that . i havent seen it myself but if given a second chance i would read that . then ..concentrate on management aspects of all problems when you are reading through step 2 kaplan books. I didnt have much time to study . I reviewd step 2 kaplan books for 7 days and did usmleworld for 10 days and gave the exam within a month of starting prep. and that reflects in my score ofcourse ..a mere 79 compared to 96 in step 2. hmmm...welll...then ...i am happy that i passed at least. then practice as many ccs cases as u can and go with a solid approach in mind to tackle such cases. all cases are pretty similar . i had my own approach to tackle them. since i am working at the moment in UK ...i took my chances and only practiced 20 cases . and that was enough i thought . actually that is enough to get an idea but if you want to really do good...i would advice to read all the 90 ccs cases in usmle world. OK guys ....take care and all th best for the exam. If you have any specific questions ...please ask and i would feel happy to answer . thanks ..drhagrid
