Hi everyone,it's so embarassing to ask such silly questions to you all in this forum time and again.Even then to clear some confusions i need your advice.
I am thinking of preparing myself for the USMLE Step 1,i am doing this on my own preparation but i heard it's better to do in Kaplan Institute.They said it will help me to get better scores.Even i heard of web preparation?I don't know about it, i just heard.I am in confusion.
Do i need to join the centre preparation?The Kaplan India says i need to pay 64,500 Indian Currency for Step 1 with additional 10% Tax. 3,500 for hostel.the course is for 8 to 10 weeks.I don't have any idea about it .
Pls help me in this matter.
1.Is centre preparation necessary ?If not what's the best idea?
2.if necessary,is Kaplan India the best? If not which one is the best?Name ,address and expenses pls.
3.What's web preparaton?how is it ?
You valuable advices will be appreciated..

It really depends on the way u study,I for eg used the Kaplan books and the library and did self study while during my internship,because that works best for me,I really think it depends on u and only u.Rather than spend money and use only kaplan ,i used some money to buy other books,I also discussed a little with some postgraduates(residents)during my internship,but I know people who said that kaplan helped them a lot.so once again It really depends on the way u study.
And dont worry ure question is not silly,I realised this forum is a wonderful place to ask any question,I myself have asked a lot of q which i thought were silly but have received good responses .GL.

 , i agree with chand. It depends on your best way to study and your pockets $$$. I donīt know if itīs better to take those kaplanīs live courses or take them on line or a self-study. It depends on you, i mean, there are guys who have studied in one way or another and have gotten excellent scores.
Maybe you could repeat these questions in the step 1 forum, in the support or experiences part. You could get good responses there because people who is preparing for that step check much more that part of the forum.
And, definitely THERE ARE NOT SILLY QUESTIONS. No way. This forum was created for that buddy. It can be a great tool to study, investigate, feedback, etc.

Thanks Chenmar,i understand that but what i want to know is ,do you feel that centre preparation will edge self study?They say they will provide lots of information.I wonder if they really do.They said they are the best.I am quite sure there are lots of institute which are cheap and even better than them.

you could ask in the step 1 forum.
I don't know exactly how are these centers because I've always studied on my own, only with books and online MCQ/CCS. So, i'm not experienced with those centers. sorry.
