What happens to FEV, Tidal volume, TLC, and RV in restrictive lung diseases?

  #2

restrictive disease, air has pb in coming in...so TLC decreased,RV is decreased, tidal volume should also decrease ,FEV1 increases as although less air comes in but these small volumes efficeintly go out.

i think the fev1 is decreased in restrictive disease

  #4

I also think the FEV1 is decreased.

  #5

FEV can be normal in restrictive lung diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis, or increased as in asbestosis, etc, since there is no airway obstruction.smiling face

I believe the ratio of FEV1/FVC can be normal or increased in patients with Restrictive PD but FEV1 and FVC separately are both decreased.
