you should look for an Official Translator in the city where you are. Search in the yellow section, you know, a directory of business in your city. There you must find one. You only should check which are the requirements for the translations, in the ECFMG website you can find that information, itīs something very simple, such as it must have the name, signature, official sign, date or things like that by the translator. The cost is depending, it varies, letīs say $5-15 USD per page. about the Lorenaīs comment, i had already added all that in my approx total. It can be more for the interviewsīperiod, if you go to 5 or 10 or 20 hospitals to be interviewed, then itīs gonna be a different cost for the airplanes or hotels, food, etc. It canīt be an exact amount, itīs an approx.

Hi, in some cases the university has someone official to translate. You can ask at your medschool to see if they have someone. Good luck.

ERAS 2006 Application Fee ERAS processing fees are based on the number of programs selected per specialty. MyERAS automatically calculates your fees and you can pay online. AAMC fees are the same for all ERAS applicants. The processing fee for AAMC is based on the number applications per specialty and the schedule is listed below: Number of Programs Per Specialty AAMC Fees Up to 10 $60 11-20 $8 each 21-30 $15 each 31 or more $25 each Example 1: An applicant applies to 30 emergency medicine programs, AAMC fees are $290. (60 + (10 x $8) + (10 x $15)). Example 2: An applicant applies to 20 OB/GYN programs, and 10 family practice programs. The fees are $200. ($140 for OBGYN and $60 for family residency programs). Example 3: An applicant applies to 23 internal medicine programs, and 7 radiology programs. The fees are $245 ($185 for internal medicine programs and $60 for radiology programs). Example 4: An applicant applies to 12 internal medicine programs, 10 emergency medicine, and 8 family practice programs. AAMC fees are $196 ($76 for internal medicine programs, $60 for emergency medicine programs, and $60 also for family practice). THIS IS FROM THE ERASī WEBPAGE. THE PAYMENT TO NRMP IS CHEAP, I DONīT REMEMBER WELL, LIKE $50 USD APPROX.

you only pay once to NRMP and thatīs it. You have 15 position for your ROL (rank order list) that are included in your fee. And thatīs most of the times enough.

Thanks everyone for the post. That's a huge some of money. After spending taht huge amount of money, time and energy...are there any probabilities that you never get into a residency esp. internal medicine. For example,if i don't match this year, will i match next year.I think if i don't match this year i can get soem USCE there and increase the chances next year.. The mystery scenario of VISA and matching has really made USMLE a risky one.........i don't know how you guys got that courage to take the exam.........if you pass the step 1,2 and a visa is denied then that's even more terrible................i don't know how you got that courage....anyway you guys are great....... Thanks for you time.... good luck

hey just check out these and compare with what we spend INTERNIST An Internist is what you become after completing your residency in Internal Medicine. So how much would you make if you did not clinch that fellowship after your residency? You still would make enough to make your non-physician neighbour's green with envy...Here's the average yearly internist compensations in a few cities: - New York: $170,000/- Los Angeles: $165,000/- Houston: $152,000/- Seattle: $155,000 chicago: $162,000
FAMILY PHYSICIANS New York $170,000/- Los Angeles $ 165,000/- Houston $152,000/- Seattle $ 155,000/- chicago $162,000/- Cardiologist (Medicine) New York $278,000/- Los Angeles $268,000/- Houston $247,000/- Seattle $252,000/- chicago $265,000 Ca rdiologist (Surgery) New York $313,000/- Los An geles $302,000/- Houston $279,000/- Seattle $285,000/- chicago $300,000/- Figures mentioned on this mail are base-salaries, benefits and bonuses are separate and often add substantially to the month pay-check ! WHAT IS "MOONLIGHTING" ? The term refers to a physician slogging in the evenings [in the moonlight ;-)] for some extra $$ as a replacement for another physician. Do not confuse this with overtime - in moonlighting, physician A allows physician B to work his hours and gives physician B a 'cut' or a pre-agreed percentage of his pay. Whereas in overtime, physician A slogs extra hours as his own job ! This is typically done by junior physicians early in the game.

is that so much as you say???, because i know we have to pay taxes and malpractice insurance at least. So in spite of this, is it a lot of money??. what kind of lifestyle you would expect?, earning that $, would we belong to the medium class or high (rich) class?. I only ask this because i have lived all my life in my home country and i have no idea how is the cost of living in USA or any other country in the world.

my advice to youwould be to give step 1 and see what knd of score you get. if you get a really good score like > 90 then you can think about whether you want to make teh committment to go ahead. The expenses can be anywhere from 10k to 20k depending on where you interview. I myself have spent close to 20k in this whole process as i didnt' score well. And the chances of getting a good residency without good scores are very low. Its a long, frustrating and expensive process unless you have a really good score.
