hi, you know of the importance of USCE for us (IMGs). However, i don't think all the clinical experience is valid, which are the requirements your USCE must have to be considered good for PDs??. is it must be in a hospital? if you do it with a doctor in his private practice is useful?, working in american red cross is useful?. PLEASE ANSWER ME, I'D APPRECIATE ALL YOUR ANSWERS HERE OR BY PM. THANK YOU

The best, if given an option would be to do an externship for a minimum of three month in the same me hospital under the program director and get a good lor from the pd. A good lor from a person known to the pd carries a lot weight. Externship in a hospital will be always better than doing in an office or with some group. Lor from from indian doctor in US is not very well trusted

i dont think you can hope for a H 1 with that ....it typically falls under the J 1 category....which u dont want ....thats why most ppl come to the US on a F 1 ..student . do some course for 1 year and change it over to H 1 during residency. that way u are in the US during this entire process and also u have a ssn to begin ur work on cali letter. and also do obserevrship somewhere. is that an option for you ?

sorry, i don't know the F1 visa, what kind of course or study or what could i do with that visa?, please advise me. It sounds to a good option. So, with this visa i can get my SSN?. if i get a J1 visa for my USCE, i must be in J1 all my residency, right?, is that so? thank you.

All people keep on running around is for MPH.But given that you have time and you are done with your steps then doing a masters in cell and molecular biology or genetics,or molecular physiology would hold a lot weightage when you apply for your residency the next year.In these masters you get to do research,u can publish papers and you get ti work under big guns and can get LORS from them.If you think you are not matching this year or you dont like the program i would suggest you to go to these than doin an MPH which is not at all helpful. These things can help you do a bench research during and after your residency and will pave a path for fellowship. Also it is said that there are some places which offer research H1 visa too.I am not sure but heard it from some of my friends.Try to find some info regarding it..it would be helpful too. All the best.

HEY GUYS, I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION. I THINK YOU MUST KNOW IF THIS WORKED FOR YOU TO GET INTERVIEWS AND THEY GAVE IT IMPORTANCE OR NOT. PLEASE ANSWER ME. IF WE DO OR DID USCE OR RESEARCH IN INTERNAL MEDICINE, WOULD THAT BE USEFUL FOR OUR APPLICATION IN PEDIATRICS OR ANOTHER RESIDENCY??? THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE IīVE NOTICED MANY OF US (IMGs; AND AMGs, too) APPLY TO SEVERAL RESIDENCIES. PLEASE ANSWER, ITīS IMPORTANT FOR ME.
