what is the major mechanism how sweat becomes saltish in CF?

CF = abnormal (decreased) transmembrane transport of electrolytes (especially Cl-) due to defect in transmembrane transporter

Recall from physiology that sweat glands produce primary secretion which goes through excretory channels where absorption of Na+ and Cl- and secretion of K+ and HCO3- takes place. But in CF, Cl- transport is decreased due to defect in transmembrane transporter, so Cl- and Na+ remain in sweat
